Here is what you’ve all been waiting for! Trust me…I’ve been waiting for these videos to show up on my door step for quite sometime! We had an amazing videographer – Will Haas from Jenny Haas Photography located in Ohio. Here is our highlight video if you’ve missed it…

We will never be able to thank our family and friends that traveled near and far to witness our wedding. Although it was not long enough, and never could be, I want to go back in time and surround myself with everyone again! We absolutely loved our ceremony and couldn’t imagine having anyone else but our friend Zach Meerkreebs marrying us. We were surrounded by our best friends and family as we started our new lives together that day and he went above and beyond on his message. Along with that, Seth and I had our best friends …

Back to reality

Well the Douwsma’s are back! … Well kinda… I’m writing this as we’re sitting in the Punta Cana airport with a five hour delay. Apparently when a Fight attendant is ill, there’s no back up. So I’m sitting here writing this in the ninety some degree weather in the airport like hut as every nationality and language surrounds me. I’m hot and sticky and wanted nothing than to be back home to see my Beckham, and oddly enough to grocery shop for the first time, but that won’t be happening since we’ve been delayed five hours and our flight itself is a little over five and a half hours. But I want nothing more than to be home…or back at the beach with my husband.

Husband…hummm…it’s weird, so weird! Last Saturday morning before our flight Seth called Chase to tell them “my wife and I are traveling out of the …

7..6..5..4..3

Stating that my life is busy is an understatement. No one even knows that I haven’t even watched but half of the frat episode of The Bachelorette. I bet your jaw dropped. The Bachelorette an Bachelor is my show! Every Monday I’d rush home from work to make tomato soup and grilled cheese and sit with my eyes glued. I still know that the show could be scripted and most of the time it never works out, okay it never works out. But now with it going on five weeks since the premiere I’m pretty much behind.

But this all relates with my life at the moment! Planning our wedding as the weeks keep getting sooner, more things begin to be added to my list as I try to tackle my list! I’ve finally received all my RSVPs back and we made the number we were going for! We’ve been …

10…9…8 The Real World

Well it’s been awhile, time seems to get away from me! Seth returned home from school and since then we have been running (literally…but also as in errands too) everywhere, working, and working on wedding stuff!

We spent our first week with Seth home organizing him and setting up his office for the next month. Organized wedding gifts and were reminded how blessed we are. Took trips to goodwill and trips to the resale for clothes. We’ve been preparing to move into a home and we couldn’t be more impatient and excited to see where we would go!

We tasted food and selected our cake. We put wedding details together and worked on decorations. Ordered invitations and prayed they will be here this week. I went for my first dress fitting and had a practice updo which made it that much more real.

Then yesterday we went and looked at …

13…12…11 Bittersweet Moments

Where do I begin? I’ve been slacking on these wedding posts, yet I’ve been busy.

I’m sure most of you know that Seth graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University this past Saturday. I drove down Friday to watch Seth play in the alumni soccer game, and may I add it was the most beautiful weather to sit in. I enjoyed a fun time at Steak N Shake with close friends and laughed a lot after. I drove back home two hours that night, just to sleep six hours then leave at seven in the morning to head back the exact same direction to IWU. We made it to IWU on Saturday morning for his ten o’clock ceremony. We found our spots and I sat there for the next three hours with the most surreal feeling. It was all so bittersweet and there was a moment when I just took it all …

14 Back to Reality

I spent my past week in paradise. I laid by the pool, spent time on the Gulf and enjoyed the time I had with family and friends. It was a much needed vacation and time to get away. We left Destin, Friday afternoon and my mom told me “tell Florida goodbye because never know when you will see it again”. It’s true, my single life is almost over, and I spent my last family vacation celebrating Taylor’s senior years, and it’s hard believing we celebrated on that very beach four years ago. Time has flow by for sure.

Now I’m back to reality and spent my day at a class for work yesterday and then worked late. Nothing like being pulled back in to the real world when you’re still on vacation mode and forget what day it is. But here’s to all the wedding planning ahead, IWU graduation in …

15 – Thank Goodness it’s Good Friday

Off to Florida with the family! Last family vacation being a single girl. I’m so ready to soak up the sun, not worry about weddings & work, and hang out with the absolute coolest people I know for the week!! Every year our group gets bigger, but I think we’ve hit the record at eighteen. That will be fun waiting to eat, right?

I’m a lover for the ocean and the warm weather. If only I could wake up to the ocean every morning. Maybe someday it will happen, but for now I’ll just soak up the week that I have on the white sandy beaches, reading Karen Kingsbury, and getting my tan on for my July wedding.

Side note: I’m thankful for my mamas skin that she passed on to me, I can can once and be black all summer!

But last night I hung out with Seth in …

16 & 17 – Bridal Shower Bliss

Last Sunday afternoon Seth and I had our first themed kitchen bridal shower. I was surrounded by all of Seth’s family and close friends, my close family, and my bridesmaids. Seth’s sister, Abbey, did an amazing job making the bridal shower so personable to me with my kitchen decor colors, and all of my favorite foods. I was so taken back at everyone’s selflessness, kind, and thoughtful gifts. We had so much fun opening up all of our wonderful gifts, then taking them back to Seth’s and looking at them all again, making a huge stack and shutting the door behind us, then Seth had to returned back to school. Someday soon we will be able to organize all of our neat gadgets into a home soon! I just cant wait to begin using all of our fun stuff and cooking for Seth!

Thank you to all of you that …

18 – The Search is Still on

So…I’ve been busy…is that a good excuse to my lack of blogging?! Yeah, probably not.

But let me tell you something all you hidden anonymous blogger readers…I know who you are. Okay, not really. But I do see how many of you have been following my blog and the numbers are pretty huge! You’re impressing me! Especially after writing my proposal blog, I think the whole world knew, maybe. So thank you!

It’s hard to believe that this blog is for 18 weeks, when in reality since I’m late it’s close to 17. What’s really exciting is today is the twelfth, meaning that in four months from today I will be probably sitting in the salon at this time as giddy as I was for my first day of high school to see Seth. I can’t even imagine the feeling, although it’s near! It’s exciting, it truly is, but it …

19 – Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder…or so they say

Right now I’m holding on to the fact that in nineteen weeks we will be done with distance! It’s crazy to me that were in the teens, but I can’t wait for ten more weeks to fly by to be in the singles. By that time Seth will be a graduate of IWU and the distance will be gone forever. Only seven more weeks of that crazy talk. But tonight I’m wishing this next week to fly by fast. Extra fast!

Tonight Seth is heading to Florida with three of his roommates to board the ship in the afternoon tomorrow for the Bahamas. They are taking my car, and hopefully they will see the light of day upon returning! I’m already tired of driving Seth’s truck. It’s too loud. I have to literally jump into it. And it’s very inconvivient when trying to have a spot for your stuff with …
